Clavicular fracture is one of the most common fractures, accounting for 2.6% to 5% of all adult fractures. More than 66% of clavicular fractures occur in the middle third of the clavicle, approximately 25% in the lateral third, and 3% in the medial third. The incidence of clavicular fracture shows a bimodal distribution, predominantly affecting males under 30 years old, followed by the elderly over 70 years old. Clavicular fractures result from direct impact to the shoulder after a fall, which is common in young people during outdoor sports and accidental falls in the elderly.
